Google Home Mini is the smart speaker device powered by the Google Assistant. This smart speaker device is undergone various changes to provide an enhanced experience to the users. Also, this smart speaker device is competing with Amazon Echo with its improved features.

Google Home Mini has recently become a victim of many issues which raise the privacy concerns among its users. However, Google has quickly addressed this issue and applied the fix for the same. The company’s efforts in fixing this issue at the earliest deserve a praise.

Google Home Mini device was found to be recording the user’s conversations without their permission. Hence Google has applied a fix to this issue by permanently disabling this feature. It would be great if this issue would have never existed.

The main issue with has hit the Google Home Mini device was that it used to activate on its own multiple times, recording various sounds without the user’s consent and then sharing the same on the Google Server. This may interfere with the user’s privacy as the device can record sensitive user’s conversation.

This device was found to record the audio clips without any activation signal from the user or without any activation signal from the touch sensor. Earlier it was thought that this issue has aroused because of some errors in the touch sensor of the device. This issue was seen only with the earlier Google Home Mini devices and the upcoming devices which will be shipped by the company will not have this problem.

Google addressed this issue by disabling all the additional touch functionalities and keeping only the primary functions like listening to the wake words, keeping the functionality of the side touch controls and adjusting its volume. Google was thus successful in resolving this issue quickly since privacy and security of the data are of major concern to the users.

However, the company does not plan to completely remove these troublesome features and the reason behind it is unknown. It is expected that Google Home Mini will soon eradicate all the unnecessary functionalities which can destroy the user’s privacy and security.
